Florida Hospital

I had my son at this hospital in 2011 and I have to say that I will never have my delivery here again with the Birthing center. I thought that I would have a natural birthing experience using this hospital, but it ended up being dreadful. The nurses were not very attentive and caring during my labor.



I was first brought into an exam room and told to sit on the most uncomfortable bed while having contractions. They wanted me to move here and there(I thought they were going to ask me to do jumping jacks next) I stayed there for an hr because they wanted to make sure i was actually in labor, which I knew I was.



Once my contractions increased I was checked and ready to move to the delivery room. Then, when I did get to the actual delivery room I was having very strong and painful contractions, but at the same time they made me fill out 5-6 pages of paper work. I could barley read let alone sign my name due to the pain. I asked If my husband could do that and they said no. (whaa?)

I had to struggle through the pain read and sign the damn thing. (Horrific) Note: I already was registered and everything so they had all my info prior to this. More paper work was a surprise to me.



After a while of contractions I was told I could push even though my Dr.was not in the room yet. There was some great mis-communication between the Dr and the nurses. In the end I was just grateful that my child was healthy and that the dr came in within a few min of my son being born. My husband though was very upset over the whole delivery and there process.



Please choose another hospital that keeps you more informed and truly care about your experience especially If your a first time mom.
