Kwik Kar of Lucas

Do NOT go here. I work for a Kwik Kar and told my friend who needed an alternator to get it towed to my shop. She was confused and took it to this Kwik Kar accidentally. They quoted her $850 for the alternator. And didn't even ask to replace her belts but STILL noted they were bad. You have to take off the belts to change the alternator. There was a $50 "cleaning" fee (which means they sprayed the terminals of the battery with corrosion cleaner, it's a $2 bottle and takes ten seconds). Another random $56 charge for an "alternator test" (takes two minutes, super simple). This place and these people will rip you to shreds, and they prey on the women and kids who look like they don't know so they can trick them into buying a ton of unnecessary stuff. STAY AWAY.

Will NEVER go there again. EVER... dishonest. Went to get an oil change. They destroyed my cars cabin air filter when removing it for the upsell...I never requested this. Then I had to buy another one because it was completely destroyed. They lied and said they found it that way. Avoid this place at all costs.

Kwik Kar of Lucas neglected to fully fasten my car’s rear passenger wheel’s wheel nuts (all 5 of them!) following a tire rotation job done on 4/4/2015.



This gross act of negligence could have turned out deadly for my Special Needs 9-yr old son and I (and possibly other motorists as well) as we traveled immediately afterwards on the US-75 highway when I became aware of a wobbly wheel for the first time. I had to take the next exit, found the nearest parking lot and discovered to my absolute horror that the five nuts holding the wheel were each turned in very loosely only…



I brought it to their Manager’s attention on the next available business day (on Monday 4/6/2015) and was promised a reply by 4/8/2015. Unsurprisingly, there was no further follow up with me.



I would certainly NOT recommend Kwik Kar of Lucas to anyone. They appear amateurish and quite capable of placing both life and property in danger through the commission of their work.





Update on 4/13/2015: After posting the above review, I was contacted by both the Manager and Owner for the first time. Apologies were tendered and a faulty tool was cited to be the cause.
