Dental Examination
At All Smiles Children’s Dentistry, we will walk your child through every step of the way, allowing them to see, hear, and touch all of our instruments. They will also enjoy watching a demonstration from our dragon friends so that they understand what’s happening during their first dental exam.

Teeth Cleaning
Your child's first dental visit is designed to help them feel comfortable with their dentist. Depending on your child's age, the visit may include a full exam of the teeth, jaws, occlusion (bite), gums, and oral tissues to evaluate growth and development. Your child may also have a gentle cleaning performed. This includes polishing the teeth and removing any plaque, tartar, and stains. Our team will show you proper home cleaning techniques including how to brush, how and when to floss, and will advise on the use of fluoride therapy.
Fluoride Treatment
Unlike normal fluoride treatments that aim to prevent cavities, SDF treatment is used to stop cavity development after decay has already formed. This process is formally known as “caries resonance”. SDF treatment can be used on children and adults alike, but it’s most commonly performed on children as a safe, simple, minimally-invasive alternative to drilling.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants play an important role in ongoing oral health by protecting against up to 80% of cavities. Sealants are thin, invisible coatings of plastic placed on the chewing surface of permanent back teeth. Once applied, sealants stop food and bacteria from getting stuck in the grooves and pits that develop on molars. Cavities are extremely common in molars without sealants, which is why it’s so important to see an experienced All Smiles dentist for sealants to protect your child’s most vulnerable teeth. Space Maintainers
Your child’s primary teeth are meant to perform many important responsibilities. Primary teeth help your child bite, chew, and speak correctly, and also help to guide permanent teeth into proper alignment as they erupt. If your child’s primary teeth suffer injury, disease, or misalignment, their permanent teeth may be at risk of erupting in the wrong places. The team at All Smiles Children’s Dentistry offers customized dental appliances called space maintainers to solve this issue. Space maintainers, whether removable or cemented into place, act to create proper spacing between baby teeth and help permanent teeth erupt correctly.

A dental crown is like a “cap” that mimics the exact size and structure of your child’s tooth. It is placed over a tooth to restore shape, size, strength, and appearance. Many different materials can be used to make crowns, including metal, resin, and ceramic. Your child may need to visit All Smiles for a dental crown to restore damage, protect a weak and vulnerable tooth, or protect a tooth that just underwent a large filling or an endodontic procedure such as a pulpotomy or root canal.
Restorative Dentistry

Pulpotomy
Every tooth—whether adult or baby (primary)—has a nerve running down the center of it. We often call this nerve tissue the “pulp,” and it reaches through the roots into the nerve and blood vessels below. The pulp is what keeps the tooth alive and helps perceive pain or temperature changes. Occasionally, parents will hear that their child needs a pulpotomy in primary teeth.
Root Canal Treatment
Here at All Smiles Children’s Dentistry, our dentists perform pulpotomy procedures to remove damaged pulp from baby teeth. This dental therapy treats severe tooth decay so that children don’t have to experience the trauma of chronic pain or tooth loss. It’s essentially a root canal for children. If your young child has an untreated cavity that’s causing sensitivity and discomfort, a pulpotomy may be the best solution.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Here at All Smiles, general anesthesia for major procedures is performed in-office by an experienced anesthesiologist. General anesthesia places patients into an unconscious state during potentially painful treatments like the removal of wisdom teeth and other types of major or complex procedures. This type of anesthesia is easily administered intravenously in the hand or arm. Your child will be comfortable and secure, allowing your dentist at All Smiles to complete any oral surgery without causing pain, fear, or discomfort.
