BY LAW: ALL PETS MUST HAVE THE RABIES VACCINATION TO RECEIVE ANY SERVICES AND A PHYSICAL EXAM IS REQUIRED TO ADMINISTER THE VACCINE.

Comprehensive Examination
All pets will receive a thorough physical exam. Some procedures may require sedation and blood work may be recommended first if your pet is over 7 years. Pets requiring full anesthesia WILL have blood work run that is specifically tailored to their health and needs. Although all anesthetic procedures carry some degree of risk, and blood work cannot detect every abnormality, it is important to get a complete picture of their current health status so that we may reduce the likelihood of anesthetic complications.

The surgical suite is a glass enclosed area outfitted with the operating equipment and instrumentation demanded for performing sterile, surgical procedures. We use one Isoflurane machine and a Bionet mulitmonitor which monitors blood pressure, pulse oximetry, and EKG on one screen during surgery. All surgical instruments are sterilized by autoclave prior to intra-operative use. The surgical suite is externally ventilated.

The hospital is equipped with a full range of in-house laboratory services. Included are on site machines that enable the veterinarians to process and diagnose potentially life threatening emergencies and aid in pre-operative diagnostics. In addition, the hospital utilizes the services of a national lab and specialty consultations as needed.

Our state of the art dental suite includes the use of the Midmark Vetpro DC dental radiology imaging equipment and high speed Inovadent dental machine. Along with our qualified staff and cutting edge technology, we are able to offer prophylactic cleanings as well as diagnostic accuracy in caring for pets needs. We are able to send out the digital x-ray images for review to worldwide doctors.
Microchipping
VAH is committed to giving you and your furry friend a long and happy life together. By microchipping your pet, you can make sure that they can always be by your side. If they are lost, they can be scanned and a number will come up that links them directly to you! Information regarding you and your pet is stored on the microchip.
