Overall
This place DOES NOT SUPPORT writers!

Here are some reasons you should stay away:

1) The owner is a complete egomaniacal jerk who will NOT read your script. Will NOT help you in your process as a writer or with your career. He does not care about you. He does not support you. All he wants is your money.

2) They DO NOT DELIVER PROMISES. New work book coming. Never saw it. More script readings. Nope. Contacts in the industry. Just try meeting one of the professionals after a speaking engagement and see how quickly you will be c-blocked. "I'll get your script to this person. That person." Ain't gonna happen. Lip service. All talk no action.

3) It's expensive (8 grand for the long program, almost 2 for the short) and not worth the money. And yet, they are all about the money. YOURS.

4) If you want out of the program, you can't get out. When it comes to getting out. Forget it. Just try to stop paying. He will go after you. There is no such thing as "the customer is always right here" and there's definitely no such thing as the writer is right. In fact you are wrong. You are naive about the business. You are not ready. You don't understand how it works. You get my point. He thinks writers are idiots - and maybe those of us who have paid the piper are.

5) While there are a few gems teaching there, most of them leave - and I can only guess why based on my interactions with the founder. See if you can ask around and find out where they went. Otherwise, most of what you learn there you are able to find elsewhere. Just keep reading books. And writing. And find a school/program/consultant that cares about not only writers, but people.

6) There was a recent website change and one of the things that caught my eye was that the founder's producing partner is now off the site. Who knows who left whom and why but from the rumor mill - together or apart nothing's gonna happen with these guys. Wonder what will happen to all those movies they haven't yet produced. Oh, wait, have they produced anything? Nope. Are they likely to? Fat chance. What this idiot doesn't know is that people talk. And there are a lot of students that are unhappy. And writers who made deals with them who aren't happy. And the general lesson there is: Drink the cool-aid and be poisoned.

7) Oh, did I mention the founder is a jerk?

Bottom line. I'm doing this to help other writers not get into the same situation many of us have. I wish, oh, I WISH there had been more visible info out there about this place before signing a deal with the devil.
