Ruben's Homemade Tamales

I was gone for 30 years and came back to this place and found the tamales to be just as good as they were before. Thanks for the good service.

While wanting some nice warm tamales for the Christmas holidays I decided to go to Ruben Tamales. And as I was standing in line the owner, Anita Perez stood behind the counter telling the customers not to block the door. As they entered she would tell them either to enter or wait outside. After I entered there was room for more customers so I took it upon myself to motion a few more customers to enter. The owner Anita Perez shouted at me in front of everyone to go outside & wait since it was her job & not mine to tell people when they can come in. I was shocked to say the least. Since we had waited so long in line we decided to buy them & never return. We came home and decided to eat some tamales. They were the worst I'd ever had. The masa was stuck to the shucks & they had only put about about a teaspoon of meat in it. They were horrible! A waste of time & money! I do not or will never recommend Rubens Tamales to anyone ~ ever!

We drive from Houston just for these tamales. There's not a place that can match the great taste, they put all meat and no junk, which makes them awesome!!!!!

Ruben's tamales are great! Just enough meat, (not all masa!) tender and flavorful, just like Grandma used to make! God bless you all at Rubens, thank you for the best tamales and for keeping your prices affordable! Gracias a todos los trabajadores y las familias! Feliz Navidad!

These tamales are probably the best value you can get for your money. they are big and tasty. too bad there is only one location in town.
