        The Monroe County Jail operates a regional forensic unit and a rehabilitation department. Its rehabilitation department is responsible for developing and coordinating counseling services and providing a variety of educational, recreational and religious programs. The jail offers an incarcerated youth education program that includes general education development, life skills, English for speakers of other languages and high school online instruction. It offers online instruction to students who return to their respective home schools when they are released. In addition, The Monroe County Jail provides law library services, including access to mandated criminal and civil law reference and research materials, equipment and assistance. The jail is located in Rochester, N.Y., and is a part of the Monroe County Sheriff s Office.
