I was incredibly impressed with the doctors and staff at Newport Mesa Audiology. Throughout the months of my treatment they were caring, patient, and thoughtful. Waiting times in the office were pretty short and the entire facility is high-tech. I can't say enough good things about them. I know many of the diseases they treat are frustrating (and I can see that in some of the reviews here), however this place is just awesome! Can't recommend them enough. If you have a vestibular or balance issue, do yourself a favor and go see their team.

Overall

DO NOT GO HERE. I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!

I had to take my 2 year in for an audiology exam to continue his ABA services because he shows developmental delays. I have had experience with going to audiology exams in the past because my older son who has gone through the same process, he was diagnosed as autistic. We had our older son's exam done at a facility that was associated to a large hospital in a different state. I would suggest you research for a facility similar.

When I took my 2 year old he at the time had a cold. I made them aware of this upfront. They told me my out of pocket costs was $650 + $35 deductible. I felt pressured to continue the exam or my son's ABA services were going to be discontinued and I went here in faith that I got a good recommendation by my pediatrician. Due to my son's cold they were unable to get good readings. Also, he was uncooperative. They recommended that we come back again in 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks we showed up again. Unfortunately, my son still had a cold and we were there for a mere 15 minutes. They suggested that we need to come back when he was not sick and they suggested a different test that they would do while he was sleeping. At this point I was asking them if there was an additional office visit costs? And they insured me since this was a continuation service that no there will not be a cost.

My husband took him for a 3rd time but at that time we had trouble with our insurance where they had our son's DOB incorrect and the Newport Audiology said our insurance was denied. We had to correct our son's DOB by providing a birth certificate. At the time I could not find a birth certificate and had to go through the process in getting one. This took several months.

7 months had passed and I still needed the report to provide for my son's ABA services. I called newport and asked them about the report and they indicated to me that we have not finished our testing. I agreed to take my son in for the final test. Several weeks passed and we were hit with a second bill. They tried to charge my insurance company basically a second time. My insurance company only allowed them a max charge to my co insurance which ended up several hundred dollars on top of what I paid.

The bill i got was very basic. It just says basically the amount you owe. No itemizations nothing. We had to call their billing department and our insurance company to find out exactly what was charged. They were not very forthcoming and very rude. We went back and forth and they ended up serving us at my husband's WORKPLACE because they claimed to not know where I was! When in fact they had our address. Not only that, the company that they used broke HIPPAA laws in showing my son's medical records to another employee at my husband's workplace thinking that it was ME!!!!

In claims court we ended up mediating but they tried to argue that our 3rd visit which ended up 7 months later was a separate visit and not a continuation because of the length of time. Disregarding the fact that my son's 2 previous visits he was sick and uncooperative and results were not accurate. They sold me on the fact that I needed to do a different test without mentioning to me that it was going to be another cost added to my evaluation.

I have already contacted my pediatrician to let them know that they should NOT be recommending any of their patients to this SCAM of a business ever. I am also notifying HIPAA regulators know of the company they used to serve us to small claims court mishandled our son's medical records!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!
