The owners of Unique Copies own buildings in the East Village but remain unlisted to avoid lawsuits. They break building codes and push tenants out to raise the rent three or four times in a given year. They own illegal apartments that flood damaging property and even cause health concerns due to mold and broken light fixtures. They are almost as bad as Regina who works for them as "the management," and exploits illegal Polish carpenters and handymen rather than hire a superintendent.
