Seriously delicious tacos! The fried avocado taco is on point. The lunch line is usually out the door but it's well worth the wait.

So I love tacos, I love sweet potatoes and I love quinoa- But the sweet potato quinoa tacos were pretty bad. They tasted like they just have not perfected them yet. Ugh. This spot is definitely overrated with nothing much appealing except for the location.

This is an awesome spot for some great tacos. There is usually wait to order your food, but it is totally worth it.

SO GOOD! Authentic Mexican food, soups and drinks (non alcoholic). Cool atmosphere as well. They only take cash, so they have an ATM in the restaurant. The cook was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, which is why we went in the first place-and have been going back ever since!

Friday fish tacos are what keep me sane between trips to San Diego. I also recommend the elote, the plantains, and the agua fresca.

Having lived in Mexico for about a year, I'm a bit of a taco snob. Mas Tacos gives me hope here in Nashville. Unlike the tasteless TexMex usually served around here, Mas Tacos knows the art of the taco. It's the hip place to be as evidenced by the lines out the door. Clearly they've done their Mexican food homework. Some of their tacos are somewhat Americanized (quinoa and sweet potato for one), but the flavors, condiments, sides and drinks are right on the Mexican money. It's like an authentic taco stand in Mexico, but no flight required. Buen provecho!

I like tacos as much as the next girl. Possibly more so, given the two years I have spent living with lovable, taco-obsessed lunatics. And I particularly like places that have been acclaimed by the hipster community as serving exceptional food, because, in my experience, hipsters' skinny jeans tend to belie the hidden fatties that lurk beneath. Hipsters know their food.

However, in this instance, a love of a dingy appearance in a gentrifying neighborhood seems to have led my hipster food gurus astray, because I truly found nothing special about Mas Tacos. The lines were long, the tacos were fine, and the fineness of the tacos in no way made up for the length of the lines. The tortilla soup was fabulous, but the pulled pork and tilapia tacos were nothing memorable (as in, looking back, I am not even sure I remember if those were the tacos I got). Skip the lines and head to Cinqo de Mayo or any of the taco trucks in Antioch.
