I purchased a voucher through Groupon. I called to book an appointment during business hours, but had to leave a message with my name and number. When the call was returned hours later, I was unavailable to answer. Not a huge deal, but this cycle repeated three times before I actually spoke with a person. I am not used to this booking method at a salon. The day of my appointment, they called and asked if I could come in 30 minutes later. When I got there, they said they were assigning me to a different stylist, and I still had to wait 30 more minutes. The interior was run-down and pieced together, and there was a lot of noise in general and a child running loose to top it off. She seemed to belong to someone who was getting her hair done. When my stylist took me, she said she was running behind and asked another girl if she would wash my hair, and the other girl told her bluntly "no"--I don't know all of the underlying dynamics, but it did not seem like great teamwork. The stylist went back and forth between me and the woman in the chair next to me. Also, she cut her "signature piece" into my hair without asking--a chunky clump in the front piece of the hair that is to be styled a la Farrah Fawcett hair--after I had told her I did not want anything chunky or that did not flow well, I did not want bangs, and I did not want short pieces around my face. I'm growing it out, but it will take over a year. While I was in the chair (not before), my stylist told me that there would be a $10 up charge because my hair was so long and the cut was taking so long (hello, she was doing to clients at once...it is going to take longer). I ended up not getting charged the extra $10. The cut overall wasn't great--the layers didn't fall well and then there was that "signature piece" that I hate, but I was given a coupon for a $23 cut and I thought I would try a different stylist. Since $23 is a good price for a cut, I thought I would give it one more try with a different stylist, but there was an asterisk that said that cuts that took more than an hour would be a $10 up-charge, so I asked for clarification from the person (turns out, the owner) on the phone, but he said that there was no way to know until you were in the chair. I asked if I could waive the style if it was close to going over the hour, and he said that even $33 was a great price for a cut and if I was looking to "haggle" over $10, then there were other places like great clips and fantastic sams where I would be better served. (I just wanted to know what I was going to be charged on the front end--and honestly, my experience was so poor the first time, I wouldn't have returned for a $33 cut while I was willing to try a different stylist one more time at $23. I have had $50 and $60 cuts, and this is not a place where I would go to get one...not a relaxing atmosphere, no head/scalp massages, no beverage offers, etc.) I asked him if I understood correctly that he was saying that if I wasn't willing to come and pay full price the next time, he didn't want me to use his coupon this time...and he--the owner-- said that was exactly right. Overall, my impression was that the salon was very unprofessional...poor booking protocol, not a relaxing atmosphere, poor teamwork, poor follow-through on scheduling and booking commitments, poor customer relations.

I purchased a groupon and requested to schedule an appt with Nina or Kelly after reading good reviews about them. The groupon was for a cut, color, and style. My appt was scheduled for 230 on a Wed. That morning I got a call asking me to come 30 mins later bc they were running behind. No big deal, so I did. Once I was there, I waited an additional 45 mins to be seen by a girl who was not Nina or Kelly. I told them that it was supposed to be with one of them and the guy at the desk said those two girls don't participate in the groupon program (?). They could have told me this when I scheduled an appt but oh well.
As she was washing my hair, the girl says, "Do you mind if I just cut your hair and you go home and dry it? I need to pick my kids up and my boyfriend and I share a car. I figured I'd be done by now, but we are running really late today." Umm yeah I mind. I needed my bangs cut and you can only do those dry. I said I'd be okay with it if someone else finished my appt then. After waiting around for Nina to finish with her client, she took over my appt. The girl had given me extremely blunt layers and rushed through cutting it. When it was dry it looked like crap, but Nina was able to feather it out make it look much better.
Forgot to mention, before the appt I had to sign this waiver, basically stating that Arella Bella can't be held responsible for anything that happens to my hair during the appt. One of the bulleted items on the list was, "Are you prepared to wait for the entire appointment to be completed? If not, please leave and return when you are." This was among many other ridiculous statements.
My entire appointment ended up taking 3.5 hours for an all over color, 4" taken off my hair, and for it to be blow dried. Who has that kind of time?? I will not be back. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because Nina did a great job cleaning up the cut the first stylist gave me.

Go for it! great place and ask for Nina she is terrific! I have never seen a stylist approaches her job with such precision like how Nina does. She really does have a genuine interest in what you want your hair to look like and how to make you feel good about yourself. She also shared tips and tricks with me to improve my style on a daily basis. What really impressed me most was I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like and by the time she got done cutting it, it looked almost exactly like what I showed her. Arella Bella is the salon to go to, artsy atmosphere and friendly people.

Arella Bella Salon is very welcoming! When you walk In it feels so energetic! The stylist are very talented! They are very professional workers! They workers greet you all the time! Over all Arella Bella Salon is the BEST! And to all the haters out there, you guys are very wrong!!!

This is a comfortable salon. Maybe not the best decor, but the stylist are friendly and do an amazing job. I have seen Nina and Alicia and both are very attentive and skilled w/color and cut. Will definitely go back!

I don't understand the previous reviews for this place. This was the worst salon experience I have ever had. UNPROFESSIONAL! My cut was not good to say the least. They were 20 minutes late starting my appointment, then I was told after my hair was blown dry that they could smooth out the top but that's all they had time for (even though I pre-paid for a cut and style). Employee's were sitting around in their clients chairs talking and on their Ipad's as if they were sitting on their front porch. This place definitely needs to be nominated for the t.v. show "Tabitha Takes Over" - not only due to their out-dated and mismatched decor, but the staff needs advice on what is appropriate as well. Will not return here.

Kelly did my hair, great haircut. She was very talkative to the point of almost being unprofessional but if you are a very talkative person you would likely get a great haircut and have awesome conversation. The salon as a whole needs to be nominated for "Tabitha's Salon Takeover". Kind of dingy looking, needs a good clean.

This salon is very work oriented and professional, but at the same time they are very friendly and kind and they make the customers feel great. They did a great job on my hair, and I have been getting so many compliments latley.
