Dental Examination
The dental hygienist will begin your child’s cleaning by exploring the surface of the teeth to determine if there are any cavities and to examine the quality of existing fillings. The dental hygienist will then perform a periodontal exam to make sure your child’s gums adhere tightly to the teeth, and no periodontal disease or bone loss is present.
X-rays
We recommend taking X-rays around the age of two or three. The first set consists of simple pictures of the front upper and lower teeth, which familiarizes your child with the process. Once the baby teeth in back are touching one another, then regular (at least yearly) X-rays are recommended. Permanent teeth start coming in around age six, and X-rays help us make sure your child’s teeth and jaw are healthy and properly aligned. If your child is at a high risk of dental problems, we may suggest having X-rays taken at an earlier age.

Teeth Cleaning
The American Dental Association recommends that children visit the dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep their teeth and gums healthy.
Fluoride Treatment
A fluoride treatment in the dentist’s office takes just a few minutes. After the treatment, patients may be asked to not rinse, eat, or drink for at least 30 minutes in order to allow the teeth to absorb the fluoride. Depending on your child’s oral health or your doctor’s recommendation, your child may be required to have a fluoride treatment every three, six, or 12 months. Your doctor may also prescribe at-home fluoride products such as mouthwash, gels, or antibacterial rinses.
Dental Sealants
Sometimes brushing is not enough, especially when it comes to those hard-to-reach spots in your child’s mouth. It is difficult for a toothbrush to reach between the small cracks and grooves on teeth. If left alone, those tiny areas can develop tooth decay. Sealants give your child’s teeth extra protection against decay and help prevent cavities.

Fillings
Resin Composite
Newer dental fillings include ceramic and plastic compounds that mimic the appearance of natural teeth. These compounds, often called composite resins, are usually used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important, as well as on the back teeth depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay.
Veneers
Bonding is less expensive than other cosmetic treatments and can usually be completed in one visit to our office. However, bonding can stain and is easier to break than other cosmetic treatments, such as porcelain veneers. If it does break or chip, tell your doctor. The bonding can generally be easily patched or repaired in one visit.
Crowns
Stainless steel crowns are recommended for posterior teeth that have extensive decay or loss of tooth structure due to fracture or extreme wear. These are used in situations when white fillings would likely fail, or to protect a tooth that has had a nerve treatment. Stainless steel crowns are silver pre-fabricated crowns which are fitted to the tooth and help to protect the tooth from further damage.

Dental Bonding
Bonding is a conservative way to repair slightly chipped, discolored, or crooked teeth. During dental bonding, a white filling is placed onto your child's tooth to improve its appearance. The filling “bonds” with the tooth, and because it comes in a variety of tooth-colored shades, it closely matches the appearance of your child's natural teeth.
Restorative Dentistry

Pulpotomy
During a pulpotomy, the exposed part of the nerve in the top of the tooth is removed and medication is placed inside of the tooth. Healthy nerve tissue in the root of the tooth is left intact. The purpose of a pulpotomy is to help to maintain the baby tooth until the permanent tooth erupts. Keeping the baby tooth is important to help maintain space until the permanent tooth grows in.

Oral Surgery
Dr. Savi earned her dental degree in Madras, Indeai, graduating from Madras Dental College in 1987. She then worked in private practice in India before moving to the U.K. to continue as an honorary Senior House Officer in oral surgery at the Rotherham General Hospital in Yorkshire, UK.
Maxillofacial Surgery
I grew up in Madras, India, and attended Madras Dental College, where I completed my dental degree in 1989. I then served as Clinical Assistant in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Leeds Dental School in Leeds, England. This was followed with service as Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry at the Charles Clifford Dental School in Sheffield, England.

A Florida native, Dr. Wray received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a major in Biomedical Sciences. She attended dental school at the University of Florida College of Dentistry where she completed an advanced education honors program in orthodontics. Upon graduation, she was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Dr. Wray is a Board Certified Orthodontist and is dedicated to helping her patients achieve the smiles of their dreams. She is up-to-date with current orthodontic techniques and has completed Invisalign certification and Incognito certification (a technique using braces hidden behind the teeth).

If your child is self-conscious about smiling, having braces can greatly improve the way he or she looks and feels.

General Dentistry
Following dental school, Dr. Daulat completed a one-year Advanced General Dentistry residency and a two-year Pediatric Dentistry residency. In 2004, after three years in private practice, she shifted her focus to solely treating children in need general anesthesia in hospital setting for their dental needs.
