DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT PLANET MASSAGE.



I am a veteran at receiving massages. I've had some great ones along the way and some that were acceptable. This one was neither. To be honest, I've had much, much, better massages for a lot less cost.



I was sure I changed my appointment to Friday, never the less, where ever the miscommunication was, I was told, by phone, on Thursday, at a quarter past the hour that I'd missed it. I was not asked if I could still make it in. I asked If I could re-schedule. I could and did, but I was charged another $85.00 to re-book. Any "discount" I may have gotten by purchasing through Groupon flew out the window with the additional $85.00 charge. My groupons were even marked as "redeemed" so in order not to loose the $140.00 ($100.00 to Groupon and $40 mandatory prepaid gratuity) I'd already paid I was forced to pay an additional $85.00. When I arrived for the massage, I had to wait 35 minutes, 25 minutes past my appointment time. The Masseuses were very nice but the massages were mediocre at best. Two or three strokes on one's calf, thighs, arms, etc. does not qualify as a massage. I had "kinks" in my shoulders and my masseuse dug into them causing me to nearly come to tears. Again, I'm no rookie at getting massages and in the past, my masseuses were competent in working out the "knots" without digging their fingers, knuckles and elbows into the already sore, inflamed muscles. No cold pack was given to place on the tenderized muscles for after the fact. The rest of the "massage" was barely a rub down.

Being forced to pay a 20% gratuity up front BEFORE services are rendered is, in my opinion, another form of extortion. By demanding "GRATUITY" upfront it completely voids the meaning of the word.

The "office manager" was inflexible and stood by the Planet Massage rules outlined in the Groupon certificate indicating that I agreed to them. I, in fact, did by proceeding with the purchase. It was negligent of me to miss that clause on the agreement that there was a "mandatory gratuity" which has to be paid at time of booking. Forget what kind of service you expect; you've already paid 20%, good, bad or indifferent. Management is completely inflexible, more concerned about the bottom line than in helping people and could use a course in PR.
