I've dealt with most pawn shops in this and in the Manchester area and by far this is the best one yet... Most shops claim that they are there to help you in the time of need...but they all are so eager to pull your ticket on the first chance they get.. Not at pawn guys...Wes is one hell of a guy and actually wants to help you in your time of need...I've quit going to the other pawns around here because none of them can match these guys in prices or CLASS..!!!

Overall
Ignorance and Lack of Customer Service

Brought in a two month old tambourine that I purchased from guitar center. To start, the rep I spoke with didn't know what a tambourine was...something I believe that someone with a fairly basic understanding of music would be able to identify. Then, I was told because of the "condition" it would not be sellable. I will admit, the saxophone I had brought in earlier was poor, however, this tambourine was used once and I had thrown out the receipt. The gentlemen most likely assumed a POOR condition because of the calf skin head. It is one of the higher quality heads for a tambourine that has darker markings and foolishly, he considered these markings an error with the tambourine itself. Furthermore, the "music expert" across the room gave input about the saxophone, yet did not step in on the tambourine that could not even be identified by the rep. Might I add the gorgeous wood finish on the tambourine and chromium jingles were more than sellable. I will finish by adding the accusation that was made by the gentlemen. As I was handed the necklace I had BOUGHT my girlfriend, who lost the pendant and then returned it to ME. My ownership was then questioned over it, as well as several other personal details that were not necessary for the trade in. Conclusively, I will never enter the store again. Perhaps due to the lack of respect, knowledge, and friendliness of the staff. Go to Once a Pawn a Time if you wish for a legitimate business.

These guys are great :) My husband and I went to ANOTHER shop in town and the lady was flat out RUDE! I wanted to look around for some additional prices on gold that was left to me by family and she turned into complete BITCHMODE because I didn't take her offer.... Pawn Guys offered me 30% MORE without even knowing I went elsewhere!! These guys get an A+++ in my book! Will definitely use them again if I run into $$$ trouble

Owner is a jerk

One of the staff members was very friendly. I inquired about paintball markers, and if I could use my own air to see if they worked. The staff member said it was okay if he could confirm that the marker was compatible. He did confirm that it was compatible with compressed air, or co2. The owner however refused to allow me to try to pressurize the marker. I had compressed nitrogen, which any paintball user would be able to tell you is compressed air with the moisture removed and functions exactly the same as compressed air. I asked if they could simply look it up too confirm what I told them the owner got defensive and snippy about unknowns. Later I had came back with a tank with compressed AIR, when I asked it that was okay to try he went back on his word and said only co2 could be used. Basically if you only deal with the helping staff, Pawn Guys are okay to deal with. If you have to speak to the owner, bring a lawyer and a recording device, or a flak jacket (but we're in NH so make sure every party knows they are being recorded).

I'm torn cuz they were awesome one time, and very difficult the next time..... They should become familiar with the key to organizational success..... Efficiency and effectiveness.......they are efficient with the operational area for their success, but they gotta work on EFFECTIVENESS!!! This is about doing what is in the best interest of the customer, even if it means they may not make a big profit. My suggestion would be to give the customer at least 50-60% of what the product is selling for on E-Bay (on average, NOT the lowest price they can find on the Internet, and try to show me!!! ) . Say I had an unopened item, that they could resell for about $100, I should get $60 ( a bit less than half of what I originally paid!!!) and they should take the $40, give or take. Yes, it's not as much as they might like to get..... But a happy client is a returning client!!! And a happy client tells everyone they know to go there, and then they refer them too, and so on......Then BOOM!!!! You triple business, and ALSO start to finally sell weird looking safety helmets, useless coins, and outdated/overpriced electronics. Why? Well, because people don't mind spending extra $, if the money goes to men they appreciate, for helping them out when the bills were high, illness struck, or a job was lost. ( 5 stars, cuz they really are very polite, honest, professional, and knowledgable. I will absolutely return to them.... I have genuine faith, that they will be more customer service oriented, and the appraisal quotes will be a bit more generous, to benefit both parties in the end. They aren't dumb enough to drive away returning customers ( most who are likely to make nice monthly storage fee payments someday??) 1 customer who eventually wants his item back, would probably pay 20% per month on it. So if at least one person a day needed a loan, that's rent for this shop!!!! That's how I know they will discuss being more flexible with better quotes, but in fairness to them, flexibility should be based on the quality and demand of the item!!!!! ( see, customers can be just as generous! )
