The Connecticut Children & Families Department offers protection to children and solutions designed to improve child and family support. These efforts are accomplished by working respecting and within individual cultures and communities in Connecticut. The Connecticut Children & Families Department oversees numerous state programs, such as the child abuse telephone hotline, foster and adoption services, child protective services, juvenile justice and the Wilderness Schools, which provide therapy to children. The department operates offices in numerous cities in Connecticut. Headquartered in Hartford, Conn., the Connecticut Children & Families Department also operates The Connecticut Children's Place, a 54-bed diagnostic health care center in East Windsor, and Connecticut Juvenile Training School in Middletown, Conn.
