DO NOT BUY FROM THIS MAN!!! I purchased a tankless hot water heater from Corning Appliance Company. LOVED my sales man Dominick and the crew that installed it did an awesome job!!! The staff is great the owner on the other hand is a monster!!

I set up a rent to own with them and thought everything would be great. I was told I could pay it off as soon as I wanted to but I had up to 5 years. I was also told that there was no interest and that was awesome. The bill came in and I could hardly understand it because it was all over the place and had no organization. I called JUST to figure out what the starting price was because I didn’t have my paperwork on me and I was putting it into my excel spread sheet. Well that opened a whole can of worms.

Come to find out that close to $800 dollars of interest was being put on my account and I was paying most off that off before I even started paying for the unit itself. The owner told me he was being nice to me and letting me pay it off before my 5 years were over. When the owner called me he treated like I was stupid and even called me mathematically literate. He threw the fact that he had a master’s degree in my face and I replied that I also had a master’s degree. Not only was he rude to me on the phone but when I went in to pay off the unit he came out and continued to be rude. I will NEVER buy from this company again. I feel bad because the staff is great but I refuse to support that man and to be treated like my money is not valuable. I work hard for my money and it was not appreciated.

Overall

My six-year-old water heater died. Corning Appliance Company told me that the warranty expired three months ago and there is nothing they can do about it. Really? Three months. They could have replaced it at very little cost to them and had a customer for life. But they chose to save a few hundred dollars. Be warned that they sell appliances that don't last. I'm taking my business (furnace, water heater, AC, water softener) elsewhere.

Overall

A terrible company to do business with. We had them when renting a house out. For starters, their payment system is beyond archaic. Its 2013, and the only methods of payment they accept are checks, or cash - IN PERSON. Theres no way to pay your bill online, over the phone. They don't accept debit or credit cards either. This is beyond ridiculous when you consider how much money the company pulls in with their customers. If the guy selling oranges on the street corner can accept debit/credit with his smart phone and a 10 dollar dongle, and this company cannot, it speaks volumes of how behind they are.

Secondly, the rates are extremely expensive, I would regularly see bills of 300$ for a month period.

The company also keeps annoying hours, closing the office at 5pm, with no way to get any information about your bill afterwords. They keep a staffer "after hours", but they can literally not access their systems, and is only there to tell you to call back during business hours.

Overall it was just a terrible and frustrating experience with them. I would definitely NOT recommend them to anyone under any circumstances.
